Atención Padres del Distrito: Consejo de Padres del Superintendente Consejo de Padres del Superintendente. El Consejo de Padres del Superintendente está compuesto por un mínimo de dos padres de cada nivel de grado en cada una de nuestras escuelas, así como padres de los comités del distrito. El propósito del consejo es brindar transparencia y comunicación bidireccional entre el Superintendente y la comunidad de padres de cada escuela. Attention District Parents: Important Information Regarding *Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council First Meeting and Meeting Schedule The Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council is composed at a minimum of two parents from each grade level at each of our schools as well as parents from district committees. The purpose of the council is to provide transparency and two-way communication between the Superintendent and the parent community of each school. This council will discuss a variety of topics, share information, and broaden understanding of District and State related issues. Council Members: • Attend scheduled council meetings • Act as communicators between the Superintendent’s Office and the schools • Provide the Superintendent with information from the community • Provide accurate information regarding district activities to the community • Act as a focus group member for Superintendent regarding district issues The Council will meet on the following dates/times: 11/29/23 @ 9:30am District Boardroom 1/11/24 @ 3:30pm District Boardroom 3/6/24 @ 9:30am Dogwood Parent Room 5/15/24 @ 3:30pm District Boardroom

Parent Teacher Conference Week, October 30 - November 3. Students will be dismissed according to the Minimum Day schedule. TK & Kinder - 12:30 p.m. and 1st - 8th grades - 1:00 p.m.

Dogwood Elementary Costume Parade! All parents invited to attend on Friday, October 27th. The parade will start promptly at 11:10am. Come and cheer on your students! All grade levels will be dismissed at 12:00pm.

HESD is deeply appreciative of the support of Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia and the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District. This support will have immediate impacts in our district efforts to provide our community with energy efficiency and a lower carbon footprint.

On Thursday, October 19, 2023 our school will participate in the Great Southern California ShakeOut. At 10:19 a.m., your child will drop to the ground, take cover under a table or desk, and hold on, along with millions of southern Californians. The ShakeOut is based on a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that one day may shake all of Southern California strongly. This is the chance for us all to practice what to do, so we are safe when it happens.
